Although often necessary and quite common, the following services are not covered under OHIP:- Services rendered by health professionals other than general practitioners or medical specialists (chiropractor, osteopath, acupuncturist, etc.).
- Eye care for individuals between 20 and 64 years of age, including eye glasses and contact lenses.
These are only a few examples. For further details on services covered and not covered. please click here.
Basic Plans let you choose between dental coverage, drug coverage or a combination of both. With each Core Plan you'll also receive generous coverage for registered specialists, travel emergencies, accidental death and dismemberment and more. Your provincial plan doesn't cover all this! If you are 65 years of age or over, you are likely to have special health priorities.
